Fun with "grandma Pam"!

It's hard to keep track of which grandma is which when you have three of them. So Elliot calls her "grandma Pam" when he's talking about her. His others are "burgess grandma" (also "sheila grandma), and "kentucky grandma".
Elliot is quite the little baker! He loves to be everyones little helper. I walked in on them making cookies and overheard their funny little conversation. Then out of nowhere elliot got a cute little smile on his face and said "thanks for teaching me how to make cookies grandma" and gave her a big hug. Special moment!

Halloween post..........only a few months late......

About a month prior to Halloween Elliot made up his mind what he wanted to dress up as for Halloween. In one of his Halloween books there is a 90 pound spider, what a great idea! A gigantic Spider! My favorite! Although i usually HATE spiders, this 90 pound spider i actually quite liked. I think by the end of the night, he came close to weighing that....

We had a great time Carving pumpkins! Sorry there are no action shots. Greg did the intricate spider web with a huge spider in the middle, it was actually pretty cool, with the candle inside it made the web glow! I took the easy way out and attempted to do Jack off of The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Vera popped by to show off her adorable outfit! Cutest little sushi roll i have ever seen, and she even had a cute little ginger and wasabi headband!

This little spider passed out on the way to Grandma and Grandpa B's house. He got his second wind as soon as we got there! Every Halloween Greg and I get the best treat when we go to moms house. A huge loaf of fresh baked bread, this year Elliot even got his own mini loaf. I'll take that over chocolate any day!!! Thanks mom! And thanks Joey for taking Elliot out, he had soo much fun with you!

On May 5th 2009 My Big brother became a dad!
Drew Thomas Piepgrass was born into the world, and what a cute little boy he is! Good work Petrea!

(this is a weird angle and makes our bodies look kinda goofy, but mom your smile is priceless!)
As mothers day approached this year I had a really hard time thinking of something i could do or buy that would show my mom how much i love her and how much i appreciate all the things she has done and continues to do for me. I spent countless hours shopping, thinking of things i could make, and came up with this.... I didn't find anything that would fit in a box or that you can purchase at the store. Instead I am hoping I can do something that will hopefully ease some of your burdens. I am going to help you organize, clean, declutter, renovate/decorate, and help you make your home how you always wanted it to be. I know its hard to find the time to do this for yourself, you are always to busy helping everyone else and end up putting yourself last. I am sorry this gift is kind of lame, but I am hoping it will ease some of your stress, help you recover things that have been hidden, give you a chance to get rid of the things that weigh you down, and have the room to enjoy the things that matter most. Your family, your grandchildren, and your talents (which are many). Mom your patience, your ability to love, your goofy sense of humor and so much more make me want to be the kind of mom that you are. I don't know how I got so lucky to have you as my mom, I would like to think it's because i picked you ;)

What better way to end my no blogging streak than to wish my most favorite little man a HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

It has been an amazing three years! I feel so lucky to be the mom of such a sweet(yet wild), creative, imaginative little boy, I don't know what i did to deserve him. It's hard to find the words to express how you as a parent feel about your child. The only thought that keeps flashing in my mind is how proud I am of him. For funny things like doing the actions to head shoulders knees and toes while singing it in japanese, for going on his potty all by himself (but making sure to yell for me when It gets a little messy), for choosing an apple over many yummy candy choices at Halloween! But most of all for the little things that make me feel so lucky to be his mom, hearing his sweet little voice thanking heavenly father "for the gospel, and family" and of course the trampoline and a few other important things, How he is always watching out for me even though it should be the other way around (reminding me to "slow down mom" even when i am driving the speed limit), or distracting me while he sneaks the unhealthy treats off my plate......

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful little helper, a constant comedian, but most of all a friend.
I love you Elliot, and hope you have the best birthday yet!!!

Well today was the day... For the past three years that Greg and I have been married we have been been visited by a certain fairy. I like to call her Greg's accident fairy. The first time she visited Gregs finger nearly got ripped off on a lathe, the second time Greg ended up with a broken pelvis, and this time..............well read on to find out.
So I was out shopping with Auntie Sharon for the day, we were picking out wood flooring, tile, and blinds for the renovations that are taking place to their house while they are off in Hawaii. As we were driving along I got a phone call. Greg's lunch break is at 12 So I rarely get a call from him before then. It was 11:50, so his call was an unexpected surprise. I asked him if he got off for lunch early today, he paused then said "sort of", i heard a little snicker in the background. So I asked "sort of"? He went on to tell me that he was on the way to the hospital, and that he sort of cracked his head open. I wasn't really in the mood for this kind of joke, and since he was acting so casually I thought it was kind of rude. ( Note to self .........this is how Greg acts when he is in shock, I should know this by now). Anyways I finally came to the realization that he was serious and felt like a bad wife for being so annoyed. Anyways long story short Greg is okay. He made it to the hospital and 7 staples to the head later he is all fixed up!
I guess him and a co-worker were working on a machine, using a torch wrench with a 5 ft long handle, (he said it was about a 600 lb torch) if that makes sense to anyone, anyways the handle ended up breaking and the end flew back and split open his head. He said it felt like being hit with a baseball bat. Don't ask me how he knows what that feels like........
I am just glad he is okay, and hoping that maybe next year that sweet little fairy might decide to give Greg's a year off!

It's hard to believe Greg and I have been married for three years already. Time flies when you are having fun!
We went out to the Keg for dinner then decided to skip on a movie, and hit up superstore for some random things instead. Sounds kind of lame, but it was a great date night! Thanks Jackie for watching Elliot or the night!
So much has happened these past few years, it's been a crazy, fun, exciting journey so far.
We really are so lucky and have so much to be grateful for. We have amazing families,awesome friends, and one ridiculously cute kid! Thanks everyone for loving us and supporting us over the years, we appreciate you more than words can say.

My Crazy Day!

Well it was of those days. I woke up to sounds of splashing coming from my bathroom. Since Greg was already gone for work that could only mean one thing.......... I jumped out of bed to find Elliot hovering over the toilet, he had thrown gregs chap stick, my face cream, and a pad in the toilet. I quickly plunged my hand into the cold (but clean i might add) water and rescued all the wet objects. Elliot and I had yet again another talk about not throwing things in the toilet.
The day went on... We ate breakfast, and got ready for the day. Since we didn't have any plans for the day I decided it would be a good day to haul all the christmas decorations out and spread a little christmas cheer. Elliot had other ideas, he thought it would be fun to smash my nice shiny ornaments, and wreck my Santa sign........... again we had another little chat , this time about breaking things and wrecking mommys stuff. soo the day went on........... after a dumped box of baking soda, more random objects in the toilet, and a few tantrums, I am glad to say that we are still alive, and even got all our decorations up!
I am glad these days don't happen all the time, cuz I think I might loose my marbles..............

It's fun to take a minute out of the day and just watch Elliot play. Whether it's watching him ride his railroad track while he pushes his train around on it, or watching him get into things he shouldn't which happens quite frequently.
I snagged a picture of him emptying out the poker chips and parking his cars in the container, I guess it's pretty cool it's like a see through mini car garage. Then he walks around with it and say he's going to work. Grandpa Burgess(Darrell) has a metal lunch box that Elliot thinks is pretty cool, I guess this is his way of being like his grandpa!

Here are just a few more pictures from Halloween.
Elliot's buddy Lily was dressed up as a hot dog, soo cute, we just had to get a picture of them together!
We had a great night trick or treating, we stopped at all our neighbors houses, then headed out to the country to go trick or treating with Uncle Joey, we scored big time out there!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then we stopped by the Duponts to show off our cute little chicken and spent the rest of the night gorging ourselves silly. Overall I would give our night an "A"!!!
Elliot's really missing all the Halloween Decorations, one neighbor had a giant inflated pumpkin with a witch sitting on it, every time we drove by it he would get so excited and yell "there's the witch".
Sadly they took it down after Halloween, it took me a week of explaining that it would be there again next Halloween before he got over that loss.
Luckily there are Christmas lights everywhere, he calls all the houses with lights presents..........I wish someone gave me a house as a present that would be pretty awesome!

Today was the day!!!
My friend Jackie and I decided a few weeks ago that we would throw a Halloween Party this year for our boys and some of there friends. At first I was a little hesitant, but I quickly got into it! Maybe a little too in to it............. Once I started making the invitations, it was nerd central from there. It turned out so great. Everyone showed up in their costumes, we decorated halloween cookies, ate lots of fun treats. Then we let them go to town on a piniata we filled with Halloween pencils, suckers, stickers, and magnetic flashing bats. It was funny to watch all the little kids take their turns and attack this thing while trying not to hit the other 10 kids in the room. After that we just let them hang out, its always fun watching kids interact with each other. Sharing their toys, doing goofy things together, if only our lives were that simple and pleasant.
As much fun as it was planning and carrying out this party, it was a lot of work! Luckily, Jackie kept me sane, and did a ton to lighten the load. Thanks Jackie!!!

So Greg and I made pies for Thanksgiving and I never got around to posting them. We were pretty excited because it was our first time pie making! They tasted soo yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I don't usually decorate for Halloween, but I decided our front door was lacking in Halloween cheer. We got some nasty spider webs, some spiders and a skeleton to spice it up! Elliot wouldn't go near the spiders, no matter how many times I explained they were fake, he was not having it. I think it turned out all right...

I had a really hard time deciding on a costume for Elliot this year. So I kept putting it off............... and of course the night before the party we were still costumeless. Ya bad mom award over here!
Anyways my friend Karli told me to check out this costume on line, I loved it! So Elliot and I ran out, got some supplies and I came out the mother of the cutest little chicken I have ever seen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These past couple weeks have been some of the windiest (is that even spelled right)....... Seems I have been out of school a little too long.
We had random things blowing off our house, and into our house, and on the street. We even heard on the news about someone who had a tree land on their car, sadly it was fatal, otherwise that would have been a cool story. Some of our friends from church had their basketball net land on their car, luckily there were only a few dents and scratches.
My mom was kind enough to take some pictures of some signs that blew over in our subdivision. With the crazy wind storms and the cold that is in our midst, I am trying to remember why we live here...... Hawaii is looking pretty good right now!

So as most of you know my mom and auntie sharon love entering draws! It doesn't really matter what kind of draw it is or if they even need this specific thing, just the pure joy and excitement of winning something gets them every time!
Over the years I have become accustomed to this way of life and find myself actually getting excited that I might one day win something. I have come away every time dissapointed until a couple days ago...
I decided it was time to paint the deck and the outer doors, and headed to a new paint store in town. They were having a grand opening and because of this had great deals on paint and stain, and had some great draws to enter. I bought some stain and paint and entered the draws not really expecting to win anything, but sure why not enter. Well......I got that special phone call announcing that i had actully won something. I was in shock!!! Me a winner, alright! I ended up winning a starter painting kit! Here is a picture for you mom, I used the paint tray/liner and roller and cage so they are missing from the picture. I even got a sweet cloverdale paint jacket, so for anyone who has been dying to have a hot painters jacket, I will gladly hook you up!
Oh ya and here are the before and after shots of my painting projects. Now all we need is some grass and plants and we'll be set!

Summer FUN!!!

This summer was busy but fun! We went camping with gregs family, went to the Royal Tyrell Museum, checked out the hoodoos, Elliot got to go on a suspension bridge for the first time, we checked out an old coal mine, went biking and swimming a ton! We will be sad when winter comes and we can no longer enjoy these warm activities! So we are just going to keep loving it while it lasts!!!!!!!!

I know I am a little late in posting this but I had to share some fun pictures! Elliot got his face painted for the first time and evolved into the cutest cheetah I have ever seen! He had so much fun running around, jumping in the crazy astro-jumps ( he only got taken out a few times, I dont know why they put 10 year olds in with the 2 year olds.......... but whatever), riding in a fire truck and using their giant hoses to spray things, and eating free Canada Day cake! He had such a blast! And on our walk home there was a little girl all set up with a cute lemonade stand, what a way to end off the day!!!!!!!!

A few of my friends and I decided it was time for a nice outing to the zoo!
We had a grand total of 5 moms, 5 strollers, and 11 kids!
It was such a fun day, despite the ridiculous number of school kids.

The petting zoo was a big hit! Its funny how much kids love animals. Elliot was kind of grose, he kept getting over excited and would stick his hands in his mouth, ya......I don't know? But man did it ever make me cringe.
I thought it was cute how these two love birds were forming an upsidedown heart with their bodies. Special moments.....

This is Elliot's first time on a horse! He was soo excited he kept laughing hysterically, and shouting at his friends to make sure they were watching him. What a goof
I waited in line with Elliot and his friend Cooper to ride the train. They had more fun in line than the actual train. What little monkeys!!!

Despite what our husbands might say, Karli and I thought it was cute that our little boys held hands while waiting in line

Elliot saw a bunch of kids rolling down this hill, clearly he felt he felt the need to do it as well!

These two make me smile...

We are so lucky to have a park right by our house! Elliot has such a blast there and makes all sorts of fun friends. This little girl beside him was making "pancakes", Elliot thought she was crazy(I mean it is just sand) but funny! Now every time we go to the park he tells me he's going to "make pancakes"
It's hard to believe my little baby is already TWO! He continues to get funnier and funnier by the day, I never know what he's going to do next, but that keeps it fun!

Greg and I (but mostly greg) decided Elliot needed a big boy bike for his birthday. He was so excited when greg brought it out of the van for him, childhood bliss!!! His little legs don't reach that well yet, so we mostly just push him around. Although he can't quite pedal, that sure doesn't stop him from doing crazy tricks on it. I really have to watch him, he is kind of a nut!

Elliot was so excited to get mail, he helps us check almost every day and finally something came for him! Thanks Grandma Takahashi he had fun opening it and loved all the stickers!!! That was always my favorite part! And the hidden treasure were fun too!
Here are some pictures from our trip to Kentucky. Elliot was such a trooper on the plane ride, thank goodness for fruit snacks, portable DVD players, and nice flight attendants!
We had so much fun hanging out with our family and miss them a ton!

So this past year I have been thinking about what I can do at home to be more productive, and still have time to hang out with Elliot. I started making diaper bags and frames and other funky stuff for myself, and through the grape vine gota bunch of requests to make items for some friends. Last month my friends Alysha and Maren and I threw a " FUNKY FASHION FRENZIE" to debut our items we've been making. We got a great turn out and had and awesome night!
I thought I would put some pictures on line for those who were'nt able to come to the party, and who arent able to come over and check things out in person!

Apparrently Elliot is scared of grass.........things I didnt know.............he put his feet on top of eachother and lifted his legs off the ground so they wouldnt touch the grass......what a little stinker!!!!!!

Oh Elliot.....I just love you! You make me laugh on those days when it seems nothing else will.

My Mom went to Costco the other day and brought us a bunch of stuff. The only thing that interested Elliot was the Huge Box, he was pretty excited when GRandma put him in it and started making his bumbly lip sounds. My mom tried to make him laugh by copying him and let me tell you it was not a pretty sight. She looked ridiculous. Elliot found it pretty humorous though!

Elliot loves helping me Vaccumm. It actually takes about twice as long to get it done, but as long as he's happy I'm okay with it!!! Right after this picture he totally biffed and nailed his head on the corner of the doorway. Good thing i didnt get a shot of that. Soooo sad.....

So our friends Jarom and Charissa were over this past weekend. Charissa being funny and random as ever figured out a new facial expression for Elliot. At first it creeped me out, but now i think its kind of cute. Elliot didnt really know what to think, he looked like he was going to cry. .....................I cant remember what they are called, the weird wrinkly foreheaded people..........

Well This is pretty much the cutest little St. patricks day sweater ever! Auntie Laura bought it for Elliot when she was travelling last year through Europe. What a spoiled little monkey!!! Elliot had a little too much fun posing and smiling for the camera!

Elliot's first long distance trip!!! He did surprisingly well on the plane ride. He sat on daddy's lap during take off and had a great time staring out the window. We visited my dad and his family in Kentucky over the christmas/ New Years break. We miss them!!! Unfortunately the only pictures we got of elliot and grandpa together are of him sleeping....oh well still super cute!

This was Elliot's second time at the water park. His first experience wasn't the greatest. He was quite terrified of the Waves, to put it lightly.Every time he heard them coming he would grip onto me and start wimpering.
So he did noticeably better the second time.
He had a great time splashing and playing in the waves, but was glad to get home to his nap afterwards!

It's amazing that Greg is even standing in this picture, he put his crutches aside for a quick snapshot. In October Greg was involved in a serious accident at work. He is a heavy Equipment Technician at Hammer Equipment Ltd. He was on the recieving end of a falling bob cat bucket, and was lucky to have walked away ( well not actually walked.....but ya) with only a broken pelvis, a few bruises and some stiches over his eye. Oh ya and his personal favorite a huge hematoma on his lower back. We like to refer to it as his "PUDDLE". The reason being that when you poke his lower back it jiggles. For those of you who dont know, a hematoma is an area filled with blood. Because of the trauma to his lower back blood vessels were broken causing fluid to build up. I have a special song i like to sing to it sometimes........greg doesn't show it but i know he really appreciates my awesome vocals and creative lyrics. I'll just give you a little taste of how it goes "hee.....matoma, hematoma..........toma......hematoma, hematoma." Ya its pretty much awesome......

It's hard to believe it's 2007 already. Time goes by fast when you've got your hands full. 2006 was a busy year, filled with lots of laughs, new additions, and a few miracles. Here are some shots of Elliot over the past 9 months. He's quite the little character. Clapping and Waving our his new thing.He gets a big kick out of it.

Well as most of you know we welcomed Gavin Elliot Dupont ("Elliot") into our family on April 28th 2006. He decided mommy's tummy was making him a little clastraphobic and graced us with his presence a couple weeks early. Which i was not going to complain about. I started feeling small contractions at around 11 pm. Greg was positive that they were just fake, and tried to convince me that every woman has them. (He later told me that he was secretly timing my contractions and was just trying to keep me calm). I decided i would pass the time between clenching by cleaning the entire house....oh nesting instincts....... but by about 2am my contractions were 5 minutes apart and we knew we needed to make our way to the hospital. We had gone to our prenatal class about a month before, which was pretty pointless i might add, but we did get a tour of the labor and delivery unit so at least we knew where we were going. We got there about 20 minutes later, and were immediately hooked up to machines to monitor the intensity and timing of the contractions. As most moms would agree labor was definitely not something i would like to go through on a daily basis, but the end result was totally worth it. After a couple hours of intense contractions, an epidural (the only needle i've actually enjoyed!!!), and then some rest. It was tine to push. as soon as they broke my water i was ready to push, our doctor (DR. Jacobs) barely made it to the hospital in time.He ran in in his street clothes and barely slipped his gown on in time to deliver Elliot. Only a few pushes and a few tears and our little bundle was out. Hands down that was the happiest moment of our lives. Only a parent can understand the things you feel when you see and hold your child for the first time. Greatest feeling ever!!!!!!!
